I don't have a manual.
Normally when you buy your Bricon set there is a manual accompanying the system. If you don’t have one you can always download it from our website.

I have tried everything, and still my system refuse to work properly ?
You forgot to program your antennas !!! Before you install the system you have to program the antennas. This means, each antenna has to get its own unique number. For Speedy and Little Bricon 100, between 1 and 4, for the Little 500 between 1 and 8 and for the Little 1000 between 1 and 16. This programming is necessary so that the clock can address the antennas properly.
How can I program the antennas ?
In the manual accompanying your system, there is a full section on how to program the antennas

Can race data be lost ?
No never. The clock has a static memory, this means that the data are kept even if the clock is powered off. A fancier has to return to the club after the race, here the race is closed over the club system. From this point on all data from this raced are released. Now it is possible to delete the clocking, and this has to be done by the fancier. The procedure on closing a race can vary from country to country, mostly this procedure is written out in the federation rules.
Important !!!
As long a race is not closed or released, pigeons in this race can’t be basketed for another race. So you always have to pass a club system to close races before you can basket this birds again.

I ‘ve clocked my pigeons this morning, I try again this evening and they aren’t clocked. Why ?
You forgot to delete your clockings. A bird can be clocked only once, before you can clock it again you have to delete the clockings from a previous session.
How? Read the section “Delete data” in your manual.

How can I link the electronic rings with the federation bands ?
Power on the Bricon clock with at least one antenna connected.
Follow the procedure as written out in the section “Linking birds” in the manual.

My clock always beeps and gives the message UNKNOWN BIRS/PIGEON, even if there are no birds on the antennas. Why ?
The antennas read the chip rings trough absorption of energy from the electro-magnetic field created by the antennas. So any kind of energy absorption from the antenna field can create these phenomena. Some examples : magnetic materials (iron) to close in the neighbourhood of the antennas, sources of electro-magnetic waves (tv-monitors, transmitters, high-tension lines, etc.) to close by the antennas. Also insufficient power can cause this problem, in most case this is the cause of the problem. This is solved by adding an extra power supply. Be sure the power is equally divided over the circuit. A good rule is to plug extra power every two antennas (between 1 and 2, between 3 and 4, etc…).

I linked a chip ring to the wrong bird, deleted the bird and tried again. It doesn’t work, why ?
That’s right, if you deleted a chip-ring, it is necessary to use another chip in between. Afterwards you can use the previous one again.

My clock time is wrong. What now ?
If there are no races basketed you can synchronise your clock yourself (set date and time the manual). At basketing your clock is synchronised with the master-timer. If you clock runs faster or slows down more than 4 seconds over one week, please contact our services to check it out.

I linked my birds at home, can I race now?
No, first the pigeons you linked at home have to be activated by the club software. You only have to do this once. This a federation rule, if there is no rule regarding this activation, you can race without activation.

Can I use a second clock instead of a DUO ?
On a loft installation you can connect several clocks. If you want to clock birds from the same race in two clocks (one as a backup) you need a DUO. If you want to clock birds from different races or fanciers, you can use our normal clocks for this.

What kind of rings the system can read ?
Up until now the basketing antenna can read all rings. Your federation decides which rings can be used or not. Our antennas are programmed so that only the allowed rings are accepted, the others are blocked out. Only Bricon 3000+ and Tipes 600+ (manufactured by AEG Indent) can block their second and third page, all others can be deleted at any time.

I’m sure I linked my bird and still it is not recognised by the system. What’s wrong ?
Check the electronic code of the ring (antenna test) with the one in your overview list for that bird. Mostly you’ll find an error. In either case you should delete the bird from the list and make a new linking.

What is continuous clocking?
While the clock is removed from the antenna circuit, the continuous clocking device shall register all the birds coming home from different races with their ID and arrival time. Once the clock is connected again to the antenna circuit these data are uploaded to the clock. Continuous clocking isn’t allowed by every federation. Please check your race rules to find out if you can use a continuous clocking device or not.

How can I test if my loft-antenna is functioning properly ?
Choose the menu item “Antenna test” on your clock.
The clock prompts you with “Testing with xx antennas”
Keep an electronic ring in the field of the antenna, each time the ring is red, the clock beeps. Normally you should hear the clock beeping if the ring is about 5 to 7 cm above the surface of the antenna. A height  lower than 5 cm means that the antenna field is been weakening by to much metal in the environment of the antenna or not enough power is available

Not all my pigeons are clocked.
One or more electronic rings stayed outside the antenna.
- The placement of the antenna is not good, pigeons can walk by.
- Pigeons can enter one above the other.
- Pigeons aren’t slowed down, they pass the antenna to quick. Slow down the birds.
- The antenna is not fully powered. Run “ Antenna test” to find out. If necessary power on an extra power supply.

I have 5 antennas and my clock is only showing 4 of them.
Could be that there is not enough power or the power is not spread well over the circuit. Each antenna needs between 9.5 V and 12 V.
It is also possible that one of the antennas isn’t programmed properly (two antennas with the same number).

Can I place tunnels on my antennas ?
Yes, but it is not necessary. Bricon antennas have overlapping fields, so there are no death zones on a Bricon antenna. Sometimes these tunnels can influence the antennas negatively

What if the voltage is to low?
Each clock is delivered with a power-supply sufficient for a network of two antennas and one clock. In the case you use two antennas, power the network between the antennas. If you install more than two antennas you should add some extra power-points, preferably every two antennas.

I start my clock and after a while she stops and restarts
The system signals with this that there is not enough power. You should add some extra power to the circuit.

What if the electricity drops ?
You can power your installation with every DC power supply of 12 Volt. Bricon has full automatic Backup-Batteries, they take over automatically if the electricity drops and recharge if the electricity is back.

Where can I basket with my Bricon ?
In Belgium : every club that has a KBDB approved Club-Master.
In Holland : every club that has an antenna that supports UNIVES.
International : Every club that has an Bricon basketting unit. Some versions of the ATIS - BENZING club-system can be used to. Check with your local dealer.

Can I use one clock to race in different clubs and/or races ?
Yes, Little Bricon can deal with 20 different races over several clubs, Speedy can do the same with a limit of 8 races.

My radio-clock doesn’t work, what now ?
First of all check the batteries in the clock. Don’t forget to make sure the clock has a connection with the transmitter at least within the 6 hours before basketting or read-out.

My printer doesn’t work
Bricon operates only with DOS-compatible printers. Printers who are only supported by Windows refuse to print the clock-data. Check if the printer is online, check the cables.

What if the electricity drops during basketting or read-out ?
Resume basketting if the power is back or use a Backup-Battery, birds that were basketed stay basketed, add the others.

Which operating-system supports the club-software ?
Win98 and Win ME give no problem. Hardware should be at least Pentium I with 16 MB RAM.

My clock stopped, what now ?
Probably your clock stopped as a reaction on faulty action. Just power-off followed by a power-on.
